Protect both the profile database and project media, then test a restore before relying on the backup.
Before you start #
Close or quiesce Studio before copying a live profile database. Back up project storage roots independently; the profile database is not a media archive.
Backup & Recovery identifies profile.db, exposes SQLite integrity and write diagnostics, and provides Gallery resync controls. A sound backup captures the profile database consistently and includes every project storage root needed by that profile.
Back up #
- Locate the active profile database in Settings.
- Stop writes to that profile.
- Copy the database and its companion files as one consistent set.
- Back up each project storage root.
- Record the Studio version and platform.
- Restore into an isolated location and verify that it opens.
Export Profile creates a compressed profile-database export containing settings, Pipe definitions, and generation history for backup or transfer. Project media remains in its configured storage roots and must be protected separately.
Restore #
- Preserve the current profile before replacing it.
- Restore the database into the expected profile location.
- Reconnect project storage roots.
- Start Studio and run integrity diagnostics.
- Resync Gallery when valid media exists but its index is incomplete.
- Revalidate Pipes against the current ComfyUI engine.
