Transform is Studio's layered workspace for finishing an image without leaving its project. Open it from Prompt Studio's Project Gallery or an Image Viewer action, edit on layers, and save a new registered copy or intentionally overwrite the current image.
Open Transform
Choose transform on a compatible image in Prompt Studio's Project Gallery or Image Viewer. Studio opens the workspace with the source filename, save state, Edit/Mask mode switch, undo and redo, zoom controls, fit, export, and overwrite in the header.
If the image already has a working document, Studio can restore its layers, mask draft, and last-used mode. The header reports whether that document is saved, saving, changed, or in an error state.
Edit Mode
Edit mode provides tools for compositing and annotation:
- select and pan for moving around the document.
- lettering for free text, speech bubbles, thought bubbles, and narration boxes.
- pencil, brush, eraser, and sample for raster work.
- crop for changing the visible image area.
- source-image rotation, arbitrary angle, horizontal/vertical flip, and reset.
Paint and text objects live on layers. You can rename, reorder, hide, lock, change opacity, or delete a layer. Select a text object to edit its copy and styling; select a paint layer before drawing.
Mask Mode
Mask mode creates a separate black-and-white PNG for inpainting or other masked workflows. Use the brush and eraser, adjust brush size, pan the canvas, and choose whether painted areas represent masked or unmasked content. clear removes the current mask draft; save mask writes the PNG.
When Studio knows the project, mask mode starts in that project's masks lane. You can select a different project folder before saving. Saving a mask does not bake it into the transformed artwork.
Working Documents and History
Transform keeps a working document so layer-based edits can survive closing and reopening the workspace. It autosaves changes and exposes the current save state in the header.
Undo and redo operate on document history. They are for recent editing steps, not for recovering an image after overwrite. If you want to preserve the current source, use export before baking destructive changes.
Export, Overwrite, and Folder Routing
export saves a new copy, keeps the source unchanged, registers the new image in Gallery, and retains transform lineage in its metadata. The new filename extends the source stem with a numbered transform suffix such as _transform_0001.
Choose the destination project and folder before exporting. This routing affects the new copy.
overwrite asks for confirmation, replaces the current launch image at its existing path, and resets the working session onto the newly baked image. It does not follow a newly selected export folder. Use it only when replacing the source is intentional.
Mask saves have their own filename and folder controls and always produce a separate PNG.
Imported Fonts
Add custom lettering fonts in Settings > Fonts. Studio accepts .ttf, .otf, .woff, and .woff2 files up to 10 MiB. Imported fonts are stored in this machine's local app data and appear in Transform font selectors.
Only import fonts you are licensed to use. Fonts are machine-local; moving a working document to another installation may require importing the same font there.
