Utopian Inpainting workflow — v2.2

Utopian Inpainting workflow v2.2 is for editing masked areas in an image: it takes a loaded image, a manual or prompt-guided mask, and an SDXL inpainting model, then produces an inpainted image. Refiner mode and a postprocess detailer pass are also available.

Choose percentage or long-side resizing, then inpaint the full image or crop around the mask.

Choose Normal, Refiner, or Lanpaint mode; the description says Lanpaint and KSampler produce different results.

For a manual mask, right-click the loaded image and select “Open in mask editor.” For automatic masking, use a prompt to define the area.

An optional loader lets you choose a VAE or CLIP.

Use Utopian Pony inpainting or another SDXL inpainting model. Refiner mode uses a refiner model; optional CLIP choices are Illustrious_base_clip_L and Illustrious_Base_CLIP_G.

The v2.2 update says the inpainting and refiner models must have compatible VAEs.

Other listed node packs are comfyui-impact-pack, comfyui-rmbg, comfyui-inpaint-nodes, rgthree-comfy, and comfyui-mxtoolkit. The listed model file is segm/breasts_seg.pt.

In crop mode, crop target size scales the crop and crop mask extend controls how much image is taken around the mask. Detailer zoom controls how much surrounding area is included.

The description suggests sampler 2 with dpmpp_2m_sde and karras, a refiner ratio around 0.6 to 0.8, and Detailer denoise around 0.3 to 0.5.

The description labels postprocess Mask detailer as “testing” and says using a refiner with Detailer does not perform well at present.

The SAM3 update reports a Transformers 5 compatibility issue. Its 3.2 GB model may cause out-of-memory errors with low VRAM, and its simplified mask prompt accepts single words such as “hair,” not combined phrases.
