PROPER Img2Img - Inpaint and Detail

This is my Comfy workflow for applying a Lora to a masked portion of an image. This is what I use to get two character LoRa into an image. It may take a few passes and requires some manual inpainting.

What this Does

This takes an image and applies a mask to it, inpainting once with a high denoise, and then again with a low denoise to detail further. You can apply a LoRA and completely replace a character, or just rework some small detail of your image.

You'll need to use the Mask Editor to select the portion of the image you want to redraw. If you haven't ever used this, it's accessible by selecting the Load Image node and then clicking on the Mask Edit button in the floating menu above the node.

Now you can select any LoRA and prompts you want. It'll only be applied to the masked area. The key to this working well is using sensible denoise values. The first pass uses a relatively high denoise value(0.6-0.9) to make changes to the masked portion of the image. The second pass uses the SEGSDetailer node with a much lower denoise (0.3-0.5) to do a high-resolution pass.
