ComfyUI_RS_NAI_API_Request

ComfyUI custom nodes for NovelAI Diffusion V5 and earlier models, supporting text-to-image generation, img2img, inpainting, multi-character prompts, and prompt-weight conversion.

The YOLO/SAM detailer can process multiple detected regions sequentially. An optional PyTorch WD tagger automatically matches each region to an original character prompt, preserving its character and series names. Tagger output is used only for matching and is never added to the generation prompt. The tagger requires no ONNX runtime and downloads its model automatically on first use after the optional dependencies are installed.

Current version: 2.2.1

What's New in 2.2.1

  • Character X/Y inputs now use 0.0–1.0 in 0.1 increments, rounded to one decimal place and sent directly as normalized coordinates.
  • Default positions are unchanged (for example, the old 3 is now 0.3). When loading an older workflow, update saved coordinate values to the new range (5 becomes 0.5, 10 becomes 1.0); the old 0–10 input scale is no longer used.

What's New in 2.2.0

  • Added detail_mode=all for sequential detailing of multiple detected regions; existing workflows keep the first default.
  • Added automatic matching to original character prompts with the optional native PyTorch WD tagger. Tagger output is used only for matching and never added to generation prompts.
  • Preserved the original API mask grid while compositing each region through its own mask.
  • Serialized NovelAI requests with a minimum two-second delay after each HTTP attempt completes.
  • Validated two-face processing with a real ComfyUI/YOLO/SAM/WD/NovelAI run and 39 regression tests. Exact four-eye detection and reliable expression preservation remain outside the verified coverage.

What's New in 2.1.1

  • Added NovelAI Diffusion V5 Curated and V5 Full model selection.
  • V5 requests use params_version: 4 while older models keep params_version: 3.
  • V5 continues to use NovelAI's v4_prompt / v4_negative_prompt conditioning structure, including character prompts.
  • V5 Full uses native V5 inpainting. V5 Curated follows NovelAI's current client fallback to V4.5 Curated inpainting.
  • Autosaves are written under output/<date>/NAI_autosave/. A newly created nested folder may require refreshing the file browser or image feed before its first image appears in the listing.

Features

  • NovelAI generation: Text-to-image, img2img, and inpainting with NAI Diffusion V5, V4.5, V4, V3, and supported Furry models.
  • Multi-character prompts: Up to five character slots with separate positive/negative prompts and X/Y coordinates from 0.0 to 1.0 in 0.1 increments.
  • Multiple-region detailing: YOLO detection, SAM masks, and sequential NAI inpainting, with masked compositing for overlapping crops. Select detail_mode=all to process multiple regions.
  • Automatic character matching: An optional native PyTorch WD tagger selects the original character prompt for each region. Unclear matches are retried with a tighter crop and skipped if still ambiguous.
  • Controlled API requests: Requests run sequentially, with at least two seconds after each HTTP attempt completes before the next begins.
  • Prompt-weight conversion: Utilities for converting prompt-weight syntax between supported local formats and NovelAI.
