ComfyUI Interval Timer

Measure the combined wall-clock time of any section of a ComfyUI workflow.

Unlike per-node profilers, Interval Timer uses a paired checkpoint handle. This makes multiple timers independent and lets an End node wait for several parallel branches.

Nodes

  • Interval Timer Start starts a high-resolution timer and passes anything through unchanged.
  • Interval Timer End stops the matching timer, displays the result on the node, and outputs seconds, milliseconds, and formatted text.
  • wait_for_2 through wait_for_8 optionally include additional branch completion times.

Usage

Connect the nodes into the real data path so ComfyUI's dependency scheduler enforces the checkpoints:

upstream value
  -> Interval Timer Start [anything]
  -> node A -> node B -> node C
  -> Interval Timer End [anything]

Interval Timer Start [timer_handle]
  -> Interval Timer End [timer_handle]

For parallel branches, connect their last values to wait_for_2 through wait_for_8. The measured value is wall-clock time between the two checkpoints, so parallel work is measured as actual elapsed time rather than the sum of each branch's CPU/GPU duration.

Important

ComfyUI executes a dependency graph, not the visual left-to-right canvas order. A timer node that is merely placed beside other nodes cannot establish timing order; it must be connected as shown above.

Cached nodes do not execute again. Interval Timer reports the time actually spent during the current queued run, including only work that occurs between its connected checkpoints.

Installation

Clone this repository into ComfyUI/custom_nodes, then restart ComfyUI:

cd ComfyUI/custom_nodes
git clone https://github.com/aoiro0X0/ComfyUI-Interval-Timer.git

No Python dependencies are required.

Development

Run the tests from the repository root:

python3 -m unittest discover -s tests -v
