Before you start
- Source image (optional): A photo or visual reference for the cover. If omitted, bypass Source image through the interface and describe the imagery in Cover prompt.
- Cover prompt: Masthead, exact cover lines, typography, colors and layout; include imagery when generating without a source image.
- Packaging prompt: Material, closure, reflections, composition and background. The retained default supplies an envelope presentation.
Start with a photo and your cover copy
Create a generated magazine presentation by starting with a photo and your editorial copy. The retained packaging prompt requests a slightly oversized plastic envelope, visible seams, string-and-button fasteners, restrained reflections and a black background. Its requested 90% transparency describes the depicted plastic, not output alpha or a measured material property. This is a presentation image, not a production-ready cover layout.
For text-only generation, use the interface's Bypass Source image action, describe the cover imagery as well as typography, and choose an explicit cover ratio. Source image is not bypassed by default; simply leaving the upload empty is not the documented text-only configuration. Bypass is an interface action, not a native set_input delta. Check the prerequisites before submitting a run.
- For the photo route, select an available image through Source image. The retained widget names template-Magazine_Cover_&_Packag_Design.png, but the image input has no saved value in node.inputs; do not assume that file is available. For the text-only route, bypass Source image instead.
Look for: With an image selected, LoadImage IMAGE slot 0 supplies the cover stage's images input; the documented bypass route permits prompt-only cover generation.
- Replace the masthead and cover lines in Cover prompt, specifying typography, colors and layout. Include the intended imagery if Source image is bypassed. Keep Packaging prompt unchanged for the first run.
Look for: The cover instructions define the intermediate image used as the packaging reference.
- After checking prerequisites and stage settings, submit the recipe and review the returned presentation for spelling, cover fidelity, seams, closure details and reflections.
Look for: The selected output is node 8's generated packaging image, transported through node 9—not a separate cover image or text response.
Outputs: output:9
Prerequisites and execution limits
The retained preparation lists tea-time-labs/sweet-tea-nodes as a required node pack. Its linked Resource is a prerequisite, not an executable fallback recipe. No pack version, commit or artifact checksum is supplied. Execution mode, supported backends and platforms are unspecified. Authentication and billing setup instructions are also absent; the pack does not establish that a particular runtime is ready to execute these nodes.
The retained effects assessment flags both Gemini stages for external data transfer and provider-priced calls to Gemini. Its assessment is partial and runtime applicability is unverified. Treat source imagery, generated cover imagery and prompts as potentially provider-bound data before running; do not assume local-only processing. No exact charges or complete behavior assessment for the other two nodes is supplied.
No scoped GPU or system-memory recommendation, comparable timing or measured profile is available. Preparation's generic Standard configuration says 1024×1024, but that is not evidence that the retained 3:4, 2K graph returns a 1024×1024 image. The guide therefore does not use that generic workload as an output specification.
Two generations, one returned image
The retained image path is LoadImage node 2 → GeminiImage2Node node 1 → GeminiImage2Node node 8 → SweetTeaPreviewImage node 9. Node 1's images input connects to node 2 slot 0; node 8's images input connects to node 1 slot 0; node 9's images input connects to node 8 slot 0. The named output output:9 has the role Sweet Tea Preview Image and carries node 8's IMAGE. The interface describes node 9 as no-permanent-save image transport; that does not establish a provider-wide data-retention policy.
Node 1 creates the intermediate cover. Its saved prompt requests flat 2D typography, a condensed pale-yellow (#F5EFA8) COMFY masthead, small white sans-serif cover lines, asymmetric placement and negative space. The lines are THE BANANA ISSUE; Dependency? Never Heard of It.; Nerdy Is the New Trend — SF 2025; Unhinged Motion Studies; and Node • Chaos • Object Power. These are editable generation instructions, not a precise text-layer operation.
Node 8 uses that generated cover as a reference for a second image showing a physical magazine in packaging. Uploading a finished cover does not skip node 1, and neither generation stage is bypassable in the retained interface. Cover edits can therefore affect the final presentation even when packaging settings stay unchanged. The recipe fits image generation with an optional image reference; it does not establish masked editing, background removal or original-layer compositing.
Both Gemini nodes declare IMAGE at slot 0 and STRING at slot 1. Only their IMAGE outputs are connected onward. IMAGE+TEXT requests a text response but does not route it to output:9. LoadImage's MASK output is unused. Both Gemini schemas also contain optional system_prompt, with no saved value or exposed interface field here. The schemas mention batching up to 14 reference images, but this recipe exposes at most one source image and contains no Batch Images node; that broader capability is not a configured multi-reference route here.
Change the intended stage
Both stages save gemini-3-pro-image-preview, 3:4, 2K and IMAGE. Their independent model selectors also offer Nano Banana 2 (Gemini 3.1 Flash Image). No comparative quality, speed or price ranking is established. Changing one selector does not change the other, although a different cover changes the downstream reference.
Both aspect_ratio inputs offer auto, 1:1, 2:3, 3:2, 3:4, 4:3, 4:5, 5:4, 9:16, 16:9 and 21:9. Cover auto follows a supplied source image; packaging auto follows the generated cover. For text-only cover generation, use an explicit ratio: the native no-image auto tooltip says '16:9 square', an internally inconsistent description that does not establish a dependable fallback shape.
Both resolution inputs offer 1K, 2K and 4K. The retained schema says 2K and 4K use the native Gemini upscaler. Cover resolution controls the intermediate reference, not the final target; Packaging resolution controls the returned presentation. These labels do not supply exact pixel dimensions or measured performance.
Both response_modalities inputs offer IMAGE and IMAGE+TEXT and retain IMAGE. The interface marks these fields hidden/advanced. Requesting text does not alter the selected image-only output path. The controls below are independent examples, not a sequence that must be applied together.
- Follow the cover's proportions
- Sets the final presentation's aspect ratio to follow the generated cover instead of the saved explicit 3:4 selection.
- Request 4K final presentation
- Changes only the final generation's target resolution, using the native upscaler. It leaves cover resolution unchanged and carries no measured cost or runtime estimate.
- Change only the cover model
- Selects the listed alternative for cover generation without changing the packaging model. The resulting cover can still change the final presentation.
Which part needs changing?
- Cover text or imagery: Revise Cover prompt; the generated result also changes the packaging reference.Continue
- Envelope, closure or setting: Revise Packaging prompt. Keeping cover settings unchanged avoids deliberately changing the upstream design, but does not guarantee an identical regenerated cover.Continue
Separate saved seeds from interface randomization
The graph saves seed 966165900452152 for node 1 and 983033719578595 for node 8. Their widget metadata says fixed and randomize respectively, but those widget entries are marked non-runtime and are not native input names. Do not manufacture a seed-mode control from them.
The interface instead defaults both seed fields to -1 and describes that value as randomization on each run. Both native schemas require nonnegative integers, and the interface constraints also say minimum 0. This is an unresolved interface/native mismatch: the retained pack does not show how -1 is translated before execution. Do not send -1 as a native set_input adaptation on this evidence.
A fixed nonnegative seed requests best-effort repeatability, not determinism. The stages have separate seeds, and packaging receives a generated upstream image. When comparing results, keep both stages' prompts, models, ratios, resolutions and seed values unchanged, and check whether the runtime is still randomizing either seed. A numeric seed assignment alone does not prove that an interface randomization mode has been disabled.
Correct the responsible stage
Prompt constraints express desired appearance, not guaranteed lettering, physical measurements or unchanged pixels. In particular, requesting preservation of lighting or cover details does not create a compositing path. The only returned image is the final presentation; the intermediate cover is not a separate selected output, so the final image alone may not reveal which generation first changed a detail. No executable fallback recipe for precise typesetting or compositing is retained.
Cover lettering is wrong or changes in the presentation
The cover is generated and then reinterpreted by a second generation, rather than preserved as a precise text layer.
Check: Node 8 consumes node 1's generated IMAGE, not an original-image composite or separate typography layer.
Clarify exact copy in Cover prompt and cover-visibility requirements in Packaging prompt. Review the returned lettering. If exact preservation is mandatory, do not rely on this recipe: it has no established preservation path.
Plastic is too reflective or obscures the cover
Material appearance is requested through node 8's prompt, not a numeric shader or opacity input.
Check: The default already requests minimal reflections, soft diffusion and clear cover visibility; 90% transparency is prompt text.
Revise Packaging prompt to emphasize restrained gloss and readable cover details while retaining the desired seams, closure and background. Treat the result as generated appearance, not calibrated transparency.
A fixed packaging seed still gives different results
Repeatability is best effort, and the packaging reference can change upstream.
Check: The stages have separate seeds; the interface advertises randomization, and node 8 receives a generated cover.
Keep both stages' prompts, models, ratios, resolutions and nonnegative seed values unchanged when comparing. Check runtime randomization behavior for both stages; identical results remain unguaranteed.
Text-only generation still depends on an unavailable source image
The retained graph connects LoadImage to the cover stage, and Source image is not bypassed by default.
Check: The interface documents an explicit Source image bypass; an empty upload alone is not the documented route.
Where this approach stops
- Pixel-exact preservation of an uploaded cover
- Precise typesetting or compositing guarantees
- Output alpha inferred from depicted transparent plastic
- Direct packaging of an uploaded cover while skipping cover generation through the supplied controls
- Quantified memory, runtime or provider cost estimates
